Pioneer Library SystemLibrary Card Replacement / Number Verification Form |
Norman
Public Schools and the Pioneer
Library System have
joined together to bring the best possible library resources to our
students. Through this partnership, your student has
access
to books and materials from schools in the Norman Public School
district, as well as the resources through the Norman Public
Library. These resources can be accessed by going to the
Norman
Public Schools website, www.norman.k12.ok.us, selecting Library Resources on the right hand
side of the page. As part of the partnership between the Norman Public Schools and the Pioneer Library System, a special library card is issued to all Norman Public School students. Students may use the library card issued by Norman Public Schools at any branch of the Pioneer Library System. Frequently Asked Questions No. Students, staff, and parents may check out material without having the Library Card present. How do I get a Library Card? Every student in the Norman Public Schools is issued a Library Card. A Library Card number is assigned to new students following enrollment in the school district. The library card is sent home through Thursday folders for elementary students and via U.S. mail for middle and high school students. What if I never received a Library Card or need a replacement? You may check with the Library Media Specialist at your child's school or click on the " Library Card Replacement or Verification form" under links on the left hand side of this page. The completed form may be returned to the library at your child's school. What if I already have a public library account and a Pioneer Library System library card? You may keep both cards. Both numbers are recorded on your record at the public library and either card will work at the Pioneer Library System. What if I do not want the Library Card for my student? When cards are initially distributed to parents and students, the cards are accompanied by an informational parent letter. Parents or students over the age of 18 years of age may decline the card by signing the "request for withdrawal" on the informational letter. Who do I contact for more information regarding the partnership? You may contact the Library Media Specialist at your child's school, the Library Information Specialist in the Norman Public Schools Media Services Department (405.366.5863), or the Circulation Coordinator at the Pioneer Library System(405.701.2691).
