Title 1 School Wide Program

  • Wilson receives Federal Funding for students according to the percentage of free and reduced lunches.
  • Federal Funds have many Federal Guidelines which determine how the money is spent.
  • The Reading/Math Center is funded through Title 1 funds.
  • Our children may attend Summer School free of charge but is paid for with Title 1 funds.
  • After school tutoring is provided to our children with Title 1 funds.
  • Some classroom materials and supplies are provided to our children through Title 1 funds.
  • Parent information, meetings, and materials are a part of Title 1 funding.

 

Reading Specialist: My name is Carol Odom. I received my Bachelor’s of Elementary Education and Master’s in Reading degrees from the University of Oklahoma. I have taught in the Norman Public Schools for 31 years with classroom experience in grades K-5. I have been the Reading Specialist at Wilson since the 2002-2003 school year.

        My husband, Robert Odom, and I have two grown children and two granddaughters. We have two dogs. We enjoy going on cruises in the summer time.

Monthly Memo: We are so lucky to have Mrs. Cecilia Bradley tutoring from 8:00 to 10:00 Monday through Thursday. Mrs. Bradley works with a small group of readers with reading activities and SuccessMaker computer skills. Ask your child if they work with Mrs. Bradley.

Second and Third graders are reading in small groups with the teacher. They are reading independently Accelerated Reader books and taking a computer generated quiz for comprehension.
