WELCOME TO JEFFERSON!

Thank you for visiting our website.  You have reached the site of the first school built in Norman, then called Eastside School.  In January 2010, we will recognize our 115th year of public education at this location.  We are the Jefferson Dragons!  As you approach our school, you will see our mascot, Jeffy waiting to greet you by our front door.

While we celebrate our history, we also work to prepare students for the future.  We have strong early childhood programs, which include a half-day PK program and a full-day kindergarten.  (Parents have the option of selecting a half-day kindergarten program.)  Our older students excel and have shown success in all core curriculum content areas.

Parents are very important at Jefferson.  We hope you stay informed about events here and support your child’s participation in school activities.  The best predictor of a child’s school success is a parent’s involvement in his/her school experience.

As you enter our building, please notice the new carpet that was laid this summer — it now goes throughout the school!  We also received a new roof on the oldest part of the building.  No roof leaks!  Many thanks go to the Norman community for your support of our schools.

Please watch this page for more information on how you can be involved at Jefferson.
