The other loves of my life are my two boys (above), my husband Brad a CNS at Southwest Hospital, and my new puppy Lilly (she is a French Bulldog)! My son Jacob is 5 and Alex is 3—they are full of life, laughter, and ENERGY! I am sure that you will hear many a story, and see many pictures in class (sorry!) |

I love teaching! Students often say that I am a little sassy, and that I tend to use a little bit of sarcasm, but I really do love students, and I love my job!! I think that I am a big nerd, I get very excited when I get a new copy of The Economist, or Campaigns and Elections—I think that students get a kick out of me when I get soo excited about what I read in Foreign Policy that I just have to share it with them! But, I also like that I can pull some of my students over to my side and they start to look forward to watching the Chris Mathews Show, instead of the OC! I will admit that I have really high expectations for my students, and that I require a lot of reading in my AP Government and Politics class, but it is considered a college course, and my goal is for every student who takes the course will take the AP exams in May, and will earn college credit!!!!! How amazing would it be if you could earn 3 or 6 hours of college credit after your junior year in high school?!
I like to have a lot of fun in my French class too!! I really want my students to learn how to speak, read and write the language that I love! I stress these elements in my class. Students work closely with other students in centers to practice their skills with their peers! |
